It's not over yet...

Spring Break may be over, but it's not the end of the year for Habitat. There's still a lot to do before we finish. First off, workdays are still in action. They go until the end of the year every Saturday and now is not the time to start slacking in participation. It always becomes a bit harder to get volunteers around this time. It seems to be that people who want to go on Spring Break will do as much as they can; but after Spring Break is over they see no reason to. The amount of people needing Habitat homes is only increasing every day which means the amount of volunteers needs to do the same. We are also in the recovery stages from Spring Break. We spent a little more than expected, but it was all worth it. The trouble now is going through all the spending we did to reconcile it all. Habitat Spring Break cost us over $40,000 and that's not including all of the events we have throughout the rest of the year. Many think that because it's a Habitat trip it doesn't cost much to run the trip. It's really not that far off from some other vacations. Granted, the students only pay a fraction of the cost, but the whole price is pretty steep.
